Wayfair to furnish Richardson dream home
TORONTO – Online furniture powerhouse Wayfair has partnered with an all-new HGTV Canada series, Sarah off the Grid that will include not only placing the e-retailer’s furniture both on set, but offering it for sale as well.
Each of the six episodes will invite viewers to follow the Toronto-based interior designer Sarah Richardson and her family as they build their sustainable dream home in Creemore, Ontario.
To date, Richardson has hosted and produced eight HGTV lifestyle series that have been seen in over 100 countries where she shares a practical and inspiring approach to décor and design. Her shows include: Room Service, Design Inc., Sarah’s House, and Sarah 101. Her most recent series, Sarah’s Rental Cottage aired on HGTV Canada in 2015.
Under the partnership, Wayfair furniture and décor from its Canadian site (www.wayfair.ca) will outfit the home. Viewers can then shop for their favourite items as featured on the series through daily online sales events.
“We’re excited to join forces with HGTV Canada on a new series with one of the country’s top designers,” Courtney Lawrie, Wayfair director of marketing said in a statement. “As Sarah tackles one of her biggest design challenges yet, viewers will be inspired to create a home they love by easily incorporating their favorite looks from the show into their own space at an affordable price.”
Sarah off the Grid premiered on September 10. Wayfair’s sales events will run from September 10 through October 23.
