Sunpan joins pre-market roster
TORONTO – For the first time ever, Canadian contemporary furniture resource Sunpan will both exhibit and sponsor the High Point pre-market event scheduled to be held from April 25 to 27. Two other Canadian resources, Magnussen Home and Palliser, are among the event’s 20-member sponsorship group.
The company recently joined the market’s First Tuesday initiative as part of a bid to be more accessible to retail buyers.
“We believe pre-market will draw unprecedented attendance in April and we want to be where the customers are,” Sunpan key account manager Roland Maddrey said in a statement. “We are confident that pre-market will be well attended by the top 100 (U.S.) retailers and anticipate connecting with many of them who are not already our customers.”
Typically held four to six weeks before each of the twice-yearly High Point Market (HPM) events, pre-market was designed to offer specifically invited furniture retailers a preview of upcoming product introductions. Each is offered an extended appointment to the allow the attending retailer buyer to experience a more in-depth visit and free up their schedule when they return to High Point during market to visit other vendors.
The spring 2021 edition of the High Point Market is scheduled to open for its usual five-day run on June 5.
In total, some 208 showrooms through the market’s 180 or so buildings are expected to open for this April’s pre-market. A number of the 80 or so Canadian companies that exhibit at HPM have indicated they will participate in pre-market including the five operating divisions of the Bermex Group, Décor-Rest Furniture, Moe’s Home Collection, West Bros. Furniture and Mercana Furniture & Décor, among others.
In its statement, Sunpan said it’s passionate about providing the best showroom experience for High Point visitors so it will have its entire sales team on hand to give more time for retail buyers to shop its newly expanded 40,000 square foot space. They are also requesting retailer wishing to visit the showroom, which is located in Showplace 1200, to contact his or her sales representative to set up an appointment.
The company also noted that with its recent launch of outdoor and the expansion of bedroom, dining and living categories, its plans to show many new introductions at pre-market that will complement the designs already in its offering.
