Sunpan hosting designer events at summer LVM

 24 July 2018     HGO Staff

TORONTO – Canadian contemporary furniture resource Sunpan Modern Home will host two design events at the upcoming summer edition of the Las Vegas Market while launching a new mixed media collection manufactured in Vietnam.

The market will start its usual five-day run at the World Market Center in Las Vegas on 29 July 2018.

That day, Sunpan will organise a panel discussion themed From Creation to Consumer: Everything You Should Know. Part of the Design Edge Summit by the International Furnishings and Designs Association’s Educational Foundation, it will be held in the World View room on the 16th floor of Building ‘B’ beginning at 1pm. The discussion will probe how brands collaborate with designers to create new lines, what designers get out of working with a brand and how they make connections.

Standing on an antique brass base, the Gala dining chair in forest green velvet is part of Sunpan’s new Directions collection. Sunpan marketing director Katherine Kalen will join the panel to share her insight on developing and promoting key partnerships through cohesive marketing strategies. Moderated by Nick May of The Chaise Lounge podcast, the panel will include designers Kelli Ellis, Julia Buckingham, Nina Magon and Neil MacKenzie.

Those wishing to attend should register here. Attendees must also be registered for the Las Vegas Market.

On 31 July, Sunpan will host Your Style Your Brand: Talk and Makeover Contest at its showroom in space B-700.  Beginning at 1pm, attendees can join Ellis, Shayla Copas, stylist Aaron Perkins and photographer Kristen Mayfield for a discussion on how personal branding is affected by the way you present yourself. Ellis and Copas will share their tips and tricks on how to improve your personal brand.

On the product front, Sunpan Modern Home will launch its Directions collection, which offers a sophisticated, urban style with an emphasis on velvet upholstery and mixed material occasional pieces. Crafted in Vietnam, each piece is thoughtfully designed with high quality woods, natural concrete, marble and antique brass finishes.

“This collection reflects the current trends our buyers and end consumers are seeking,” product manager Fion Ho said.

Following its successful debut at the spring High Point Market, Sunpan’s Kelli Ellis Collection will have a second feature spotlight at Las Vegas Market. The collection features occasional seating and occasional tables designed with a fusion of femininity and retro style. Some of the key elements in this collection are details such as ruching, on-trend colors and performance fabric – a first for the company.
