Sunpan adds rug collection
TORONTO – Contemporary furniture resource Sunpan Modern Home has unveiled a new collection of handcrafted rugs from India, covering style categories from contemporary to transitional and modern.
“We continue to expand our assortment of home furnishings with an extensive offering of rugs,” chief executive officer Sundeep Baga said in a statement. “Our design partners should feel confident that they can complete an entire room with beautiful product from Sunpan. We are thrilled to announce that our rugs are in-stock and ready to ship.”
He noted Sunpan’s made in India program features designs brought to life by skilled local artisans and feature traditional and abstract patterns in an assortment of high-quality materials including wool, cotton and genuine cowhide. This new category will bring a new layer of comfort and versatility to living, lounge and bedroom environments.
Adding rugs was the obvious next step in the private-held company’s plan to become a one-stop resource, particularly for interior designers. “We understand the importance of growing our accessory offering and rugs are a key addition for our partners to complete their projects,” Bagga told Home Goods Online.
What sets this collection apart, he added, is the variety of techniques used to craft the rugs. “We are able to offer hand loomed, hand woven, hand made, hand tufted pieces that result in a variety of textures, patterns and pile heights,” Bagg said, “Furthering this collection, our team has worked to also source high quality materials like wool, cotton and cowhide for truly luxurious, comfortable rugs.”
The collection is offered in three standard sizes: five by eight feet; eight by ten feet; and, nine by twelve feet. The hand-cut cowhide rugs are offered in one size and four colours. “We have two other rugs that are ‘patchwork’ designs – combining genuine cowhide and woven materials for a special pattern,” Bagga noted, adding the rugs are competitively priced.
The Sunpan rug collection features a variety of neutral cream and grey tones (with a few pops of blue) in fairly neutral patterns that are suitable for most styles of furnishings and interiors. They also complement the rest of the company’s product assortment.
Sunpan is expected to show at the upcoming summer edition of the Las Vegas Market and the fall edition of the High Point Market.
