Structube enters U.S. market
MONTREAL (30 November 2015) - Contemporary furniture specialist Structube has become one of the few Canadian furniture retailers to enter the market south of the border with the launch of its e-commerce site for consumers in the United States.
The site went live just in time for its infamous ‘Black Friday' - reputedly the hottest weekend for retail sales in the U.S.
In a statement, Structube said it believes U.S. customers will immediately benefit from its aggressive pricing strategy on its exclusive, contemporary products.
In addition to its easy-to-use online web platform, Structube owns and operates 47 stores across Canada and plans on opening many locations across the United States, starting in 2016.
Founded here in 1974, Structube offers contemporary and mid-century styled furniture in materials ranging from rustic wood to sleek lacquer and glass, specialising in high-style and low-priced items, both pre-assembled and easy-to-assemble. It targets young professionals, condo dwellers and even small businesses.
The privately-held company opened its first furniture retail outline in 1980 and currently has stores in almost every province across the country. It also recently tripled the size of its state-of-the-art fulfilment centre here to 250,000 square feet.
It also recently became an omni-channel retailer, launching what it describes as a fluidly connected and fully integrated e-commerce said. "This high tech solution enables the company to stay lean and competitive while continuing to offer the best possible products and prices to its customers," it said.
The company's web site can be found at structube.com.
There are very few Canadian furniture retailers operating in the United States, almost none operating brick and mortar stores. However, there are a number of e-commerce specialists targeting consumers south of the border including the Vancouver-based Cymax; the Toronto-headquartered Novosbed, a mattress specialist; and, Wholesale Furniture Brokers of Kamloops, British Columbia.
