Stratford store named Home Furniture’s best for 2020
ST. JACOB’S, Ontario – Stratford Home Furniture was named Best Home Furniture at the co-operatively owned group’s Proud of My Home Achievement Awards at their recently held fall 2021 virtual market.
Home Furniture is one of the banners operated by Home Hardware Stores, this country’s largest network of independently owned and operated hardware stores and building supply centres, with some 1,100 locations from coast-to-coast.
“We are deeply honoured to be acknowledged with the Proud of My Home Achievement Award for Best Home Furniture,” Jim Fierling, dealer-owner of Stratford Home Furniture, said in a statement. “We owe this award to our staff, who are the primary reason for our success. They are a dedicated and hardworking team that continues to provide exceptional customer service.”
Stratford Home Furniture was one of only 16 stores recognized with a 2020 Proud of My Home Achievement Award. Recipients must demonstrate excellence in staff performance and customer service; interior presentation, including clear signage, tidiness, and merchandise presentation and displays; exterior presentation, including cleanliness and attractive window displays; staff training; and participation in dealer network initiatives.
“The Proud of My Home Achievement Award recognizes Stratford Home Furniture’s commitment and dedication to putting their community first,” said Kevin Macnab, president and chief executive officer of Home Hardware Stores Limited.
Jim Fierling has been involved in the family business since the store first joined the Home banner in 2006. He later became the sole owner, purchasing the company from his father, Howard Fierling, in 2015. Today, he and his wife, Leslie, operate the 8,500 square foot Stratford Home Furniture which operates a main store and a nearby outlet store as well.
“At Stratford Home Furniture, we go above and beyond what a typical retailer will do to make sure our customers are satisfied with their purchase, including supporting our customers after their warranty expires,” Fierling said. “We also provide regular training on technology and products so our staff members can provide the best customer service possible.”
“We attribute our success to the hard work and dedication of our employees who share our customer-first philosophy,” he continued. “We never rest on our success, but continue to work on improving wherever we can, trying different things, and adapting as necessary. Being an independent Home Furniture retailer provides us with the flexibility to adapt to the unique and evolving needs of our customers and community.”
