Sleep Country CFO resigns
TORONTO – Sleep Country Canada Holdings (SCC), the publicly-held parent of mattress retailers Sleep Country, Dormez-vous and Endy, has announced that its chief financial officer and corporate secretary, Robert Masson has resigned from the company to pursue another opportunity.
In a statement, the company said Masson joined Sleep Country in 2013 and has played a central role in a number of key events, including the initial public offering in 2015 and the recent acquisition of Canadian online mattress brand Endy.
“Rob has been a great part of the leadership team during an exciting period of time and will continue to be a good friend and supporter of Sleep Country,” SCC chief executive officer David Friesema said. “The board of directors and the entire Sleep Country team join me in thanking Rob for his contributions and leadership.”
Masson will remain with Sleep Country until 07 May to assist with an orderly transition. Prior to joining SCC in July 2013, Masson served as CFO for Second Cup, the publicly-held franchisor of some 350 coffee shops across the country. He held the same position for Manchu Wok, a franchise network of Asian fast food restaurants.
Sleep Country said it will soon commence a formal search for a new CFO.
SCC operates 265 corporately-owned stores and 16 distribution centers across the country under two banners, Dormez-vous in Quebec and Sleep Country throughout the rest of the country.
