Sealy Sofa Convertibles launches augmented reality tool at HPM
TORONTO – Sealy Sofa Convertibles will demonstrate its new augmented reality app for retailers at its showroom at the upcoming spring edition of the High Point Market.
“Augmented reality is the most talked-about and eagerly-awaited technology in retail right now,” said Anthony da Silva, executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company, which was launched last fall as a division of furniture distributor Domas Vita. “Our Sealy Sofa Convertibles augmented reality app transforms the buying experience for consumers and makes selling easier for retailers.”
The company’s showroom is located in space H543 of the International Home Furnishings Center. The spring edition of the market opens for its normal five-day run on Saturday, 14 April.
The new app allows retailers to virtually stage the complete range of Sealy Sofa Convertibles in any product category, cover and leg finish.
“This frees up valuable showroom space because not everything a retailer has in their warehouse has to be on the showroom floor,” said Frank Rinella, sales manager for North America for Sealy Sofa Convertibles. “Sales representatives can show any product in any color in realistic 3D right in the moment with the customer.”
Customers can open a retailer’s virtual showroom right in their home, and the company expects retailers will see a significant boost in post-visit sales when customers take the showroom home to virtually try-out products from the retailer’s warehouse, right in the exact setting where they’ll be used.
“The time is now for retailers to embrace augmented reality,” said da Silva, “Brick-and-mortar outlets will become showrooms staffed with knowledgeable sales associates guiding the customer through their purchase journey. It’s a win-win for the retailer and the customer.”
