Samsung ships 1M TVs in Canada
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (24 January 2012) - Samsung Electronics Canada (SEC) announced today that it shipped one million flat panel televisions into the Canadian market in 2011, making it the number one brand in this country. To celebrate the milestone, the consumer electronics giant is partnering with Citytv and launching an online contest that will see eligible Canadians win one of its flagship LED TVs.
The contest will launch today and will be featured with the network's CityLine talk show.
"Samsung Smart TVs are redefining how consumers interact and manage their home entertainment experience," SEC president of sales and marketing James Politeski said in a statement. "Our passion for combining the best of technology with cutting edge design has resonated incredibly well with customers in Canada and we look forward to reaching even more families in the coming year."
Those who enter the CityLine contest are eligible to win Samsung's flagship Smart TV, UN55ES8000, which was recently unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and winner of a CES 2012 Innovations Design and Engineering Award.
This TV features Samsung's Smart Hub which allows the user to wirelessly access and download endless offerings of movies, TV shows, music, sports and information through the Samsung TV App store.
The contest can be entered by visiting the CityLine website at www.citytv.com/CityLine/contests. The winner will be selected by random draw on the CityLine show after the contest closes.
