Palliser expands LVM showroom
LAS VEGAS – The organisers of the Las Vegas Market (LVM) have announced that Canadian full-line resource Palliser will expand its presence with a new 3,346 square foot showroom in time for the winter edition of the twice-annual trade event, which will open for its usual five-day run here on January 28. It’s located in space B10 of the World Market Center.
International Market Centers (IMC) said in a statement the expansion is connected with Palliser’s recent re-acquisition of case goods provider Casana Furniture and will enable the Winnipeg-headquartered manufacturer to present a complete range of both upholstery and case goods at a variety of price points and design aesthetics during the market.
“Las Vegas Market is becoming the critical gateway for major manufacturers seeking to attract a western United States buyer base,” said Ryan Mahoney, IMC’s senior vice president of furniture leasing. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is continuing to enlarge its buyer audience among major retailers and interior designers, offering new opportunities for suppliers and buyers to connect at market.”
When it re-acquired Casana this past June, the company re-organised itself as the Palliser Furniture Group (PFG) – under Peter Tielmann as president and Art DeFehr as chairman and chief executive officer – and renamed it Palliser Casegoods with its other operating division to be called Palliser Upholstery. At the time, Tielman said the company believed the re-organisation made it the largest full-line furniture resource in Canada.
“Palliser Casegoods is thrilled to make its Las Vegas debut,” Nathan Dick, president of Palliser Casegoods added. “The additional showroom space at Las Vegas Market will provide us with a setting to showcase a wide selection of upholstery, occasional, bedroom and dining product.”
The new Palliser showroom will have a grand opening ribbon cutting at Winter Market, both to celebrate the expansion and to mark the debut of Palliser Casegoods.
“The combination of Palliser upholstery and Palliser case goods, under the Palliser brand allows us to offer a complete portfolio of home furnishing products to our retailers throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico,” said Cary Benson, CEO and president of Palliser Furniture. “We had a great reaction to the whole home look we previewed in High Point at October market and will build future collections to take advantage of our ability to provide upholstery and case good products designed to work together.”
In connection with Palliser’s expansion, major case goods supplier ID USA will relocate from space B10 to a new 3,225-square-foot location on the same floor. ID USA offers a wide variety of living room, dining room, bedroom, home office and storage products.
IMC said the Palliser expansion and ID USA relocation are the latest in more than 30 previously announced additions and expansions for the upcoming winter edition of the Las Vegas Market.
The organisers maintain Las Vegas Market is the largest furniture market in the western United States, with more than four million square feet and 2,000-plus furniture lines presented on 32 showroom floors, along with nearly 200 temporary exhibitors showcasing home furnishings on B2 and in The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market.
In addition to furniture, LVM is seen as the U.S. bedding market, with the top 14 producers represented on its floors. It is also a growing resource for casual/outdoor furniture following its 2015 launch of two new, dedicated floors for the category.
LVM winter 2018 runs January 28 to February 1, 2018.
