Palliser Group names CMO
WINNIPEG – The Palliser Furniture Group has named Steve Ambeau to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. The group includes both Palliser, the upholstery manufacturer and EQ3, the integrated furniture resource and retailer. His appointment is effective June 1.
In a statement, the family-owned company said from his base in Toronto, Ambeau will be charged with creating an overarching digital strategy taking both brands to a new level across North America. He will be responsible for shaping and leading their growth strategy, including the planning and positioning of all consumer-facing communications across multiple business channels.
With a passion for people, technology, media planning and content rooted in customer insight, Ambeau joins Palliser with nearly 25 years of international marketing experience with roles focusing on digital marketing, brand strategy and content creation with the BMW Group as well as agency-side project work with Mars, Suncor Energy, Ford, J&J and Electrolux. In his most recent role as chief marketing officer for a multi-national technology provider in the automotive segment, Ambeau was responsible for repositioning the brand architecture and building brand equity across Canada, the United Kingdom and France.
“Steve brings considerable experience and an international perspective that will align and elevate our marketing efforts,” Peter Tielmann, chief executive officer of the Palliser Furniture Group said. “The creation of this new role is ideal timing as this next chapter of the business is key to meeting our long-term goals.”
“I am thrilled to join EQ3 and the Palliser brands and realize one of my greatest passions: to work with companies that have a deep heritage and nuanced story to tell,” said Ambeau. “Peter Tielmann and his leadership team have a clear vision for sustainable growth that aligns with my experience and skill set. I’m looking forward to helping shape that growth led by a customer-centric, story-telling approach.”
He noted EQ3 is a vertically integrated company with a reputation for excellence built on two decades of providing high-quality furniture and home goods. Embodying a uniquely Canadian approach to design, EQ3 is driven by an understated and solid strength of character and embodies this country’s values of inclusivity, modesty, empathy and thoughtfulness. It operates some 16 stores across North America, including five in the United States.
Founded in 1944, Palliser produces a full range of upholstered products in leather and fabric including sofas, sectionals and recliners. Specializing in made-to-order manufacturing, over the past decade the company has become an industry leader in the home theatre seating category.
