Mercana names e-commerce director

VANCOUVER – Mercana Furniture and Décor has named Anna Del Monte as director of business development and e-commerce, a new position for the wall art manufacturer and furnishings distributor based here.

In a statement, the company said Del Monte will be responsible for pursuing new business opportunities while continuing to serve the current and evolving needs of its long-standing business-to-business and trade customers.

She joins Mercana with more than two decades of strategic sales experience at leading multi-national companies including Nike, Warner Brothers and Tom Tom. She has also managed major accounts and brand portfolios including Amazon, JBL, Harman Kardon and Under Armour.

Del Monte said she looks forward to onboarding new e-commerce partners and helping them maximize their sales potential during this unprecedented time, and in the future.

“As a medium-sized company we are nimble enough to respond to changing business environments and accommodate the needs of new and existing clients,” she said. “COVID-19 has definitely changed the way we look at business and provided an exciting opportunity to fast-track our e-commerce initiatives and build strong strategic partnerships.

“Now, more than ever, we need to understand the importance of relationships and providing product assortments that work for each retailer’s specific needs. It’s about deeply understanding our customers and our products,” she added.

In addition to its factory, warehouse and showroom here, Mercana is a participant in the Las Vegas Market, where it has a showroom in space B316 of the World Market Center; and the High Point Market, where it can be found in space C332 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
