Mario Degilio passes away
TIMMINS, Ontario – Retired furniture, mattress and major appliance retailer Mario Degilio died May 7, 2017, at the age of 87.
“He was our rock and our foundation,” his family in a statement.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris (Lapalme) and by his children Paul (Betty-Anne), Roseanne (Clarke), and David (Renee) as well as a number of grandchildren including Ashley, Michael, Joey, Nathaniel, Zachariah, Paige, Zain, Blythe, Brenna and Logan. He was great-grandfather to James Fernandes.
Degilio was the long-time owner of Arctic Home Furnishings, a single-unit furniture, mattress and major appliance retailer that started off in 1943 as a dealer commercial refrigeration equipment.
A private family celebration of his life will be held.
