Marie-Eve Boucher joins CFS as communications manager
MONTREAL – Marie-Eve Boucher has been named manager of communications and events for both the Quebec Furniture Manufacturers Association (QFMA) and the Canadian Furniture Show (CFS).
She succeeds Nathalie Lessard, who after some four years in the position left to become director of communications for the company that operates this city’s Jacques Cartier and Champlain bridges.
Prior to joining the QFMA, Boucher was marketing and communications manager for the Montreal-based ACCEO Solutions Inc., a major player in the Canadian IT sector. While there, she led internal and external communications initiatives, corporate marketing, branding and public relations, and played a consulting role in several business unit marketing teams. “I was also the creative lead for an advertising and multi-disciplinary marketing team that provided expertise in programming and web integration, writing, translation, graphics, video creation, social media, SEM, SEO and analytics,” she told Home Goods Online.
Before joining ACCEO in 2015, Boucher worked spent over a decade in the field of advertising for over 10 years – starting off as a copywriter for Montreal’s Provokat agency, one first digital-only advertising agencies in the country. “I had the chance to work on ground-breaking projects targeting the consumer interactive experience,” she said. “While each campaign was unique in its vision and reach – marketing Quebec, national and international brands – they all shared a creative process that centred on the consumer experience. This approach won me and my team several advertising awards.”
She also did a stint at ZIP, a more traditional advertising agency also based in Montreal. There, her mandate was to expand the agency’s service portfolio to include digital media and fully integrated campaigns. “During this time, I had the opportunity to collaborate on TV, radio, print and point-of-sale advertising projects, among others,” she recalled, adding, “I designed and implemented several marketing strategies and integrated advertising campaigns for leading restaurant and food brands such as Boston Pizza, Metro Supermarkets and Earth's Own. As a result, I was promoted to digital creative and strategy manager and had the privilege to see several of our campaigns recognised with high-profile awards.”
Boucher holds a degree in French studies from the Université de Sherbrooke and has a certificate in advanced social media marketing from IAB Canada.
In her new position, she will oversee event planning, marketing and communications for both the Canadian Furniture Show and the QFMA, including media relations and promoting the industry. She will report to Pierre Richard, president and chief executive officer of both CFS and QFMA.
“We are very pleased to welcome Marie-Eve to the team,” Richard said in a statement. “Her in-depth knowledge and experience in digital marketing and communications will help us optimise the ever-growing potential of digital platforms both for the QFMA and the Canadian Furniture Show. Marie-Eve is perfectly bilingual and a true team-player who has already had a positive impact on colleagues and partners alike.”
