 25 April 2007

STRATFORD, Ontario - Stratford Home Furniture celebrated the official grand opening of their store at 2954 Ontario Street East here with a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this week. Celebrations surrounding the grand opening will continue through the week with door prizes and special gift offers for the first 50 purchases.

Jim Fierling, who helps run the store, comes from a family of Home Hardware Store dealer-owners. His father, Howard, was dealer-owner of the Wellesley Home Hardware Building Centre, his brother Brian and sister-in-law Anna own the St. Marys Home Building Centre and brother Rich is employed at Home Hardware's corporate head offices in St. Jacobs.

"I guess you could say it's in my blood!" says Fierling who opened the doors to the family run store in February 2007. "We're thrilled to be providing our customers with such wonderful products and a great shopping environment so they can remain up-to-date on the latest trends in home décor and interior design."

The store features 8,500 square feet housing home furnishings, accessories and décor products.  Merchandise will includes large items like appliances, mattresses and smaller pieces such as lamps, lighting, throws, pillows and area rugs. The store employs four full-time workers as well as five part-timers, including Jim's two teenaged sons.

"On behalf of Home Hardware Stores Limited I'd like to congratulate Jim, his family and staff on their new store," says Paul Straus, vice president and chief executive officer of Home Hardware Stores Limited. "Their hard work and dedication in bringing Home Furniture to Stratford is apparent in the truly exceptional store."
