Happy Holidays from HGO
BRIGHTON, Ontario – All too quickly it seems 2017 is coming to an end. I could have sworn Christmas 2016 was last week. But time waits for no one. So, everyone here at Home Goods Online would like to wish all of our friends and colleagues, readers and sponsors wherever you are in the country and whatever your faith a truly Merry Christmas and a Joyful, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
Ours may not be a very large industry, however you measure size (sales, storefronts, manufacturing plants and capacity) but we’re not boring. And over the past month or so, I found some new things to write about, new ideas to inspire us and, perhaps a few new ways of looking at things.
Some might cringe, but I’m bringing back my industry forecast in the Spring 2018 edition of the Merchandiser, which will come out in mid-February. We’re going to look at the consumer from top to bottom, what state she’s in, how much money she’s got and try to offer some helpful insights into where she’s leading us.
Next year will also see the publishing of a kicked-up Bedding Industry Report sometime mid-year.
We also have plans for new features for the home page and the newsletter, so stay tuned for that. HGO will also be on the ground for the Winter 2018 edition of the Las Vegas Market, so stop and chat if you see us wandering the halls of the World Market Center.
Our offices will be closed as of 12noon this Friday (December 22) and will re-open on Tuesday, 03 January. The next edition of the newsletter will be published on Wednesday, 04 January 2018.
