Gift + Home Market moves to Toronto Congress Centre
TORONTO – The fall 2019 edition of the newly re-monikered Toronto Gift + Home Market will be held entirely under one roof at the Toronto Congress Centre. It will open for its normal four-day run on Sunday, 11 August.
For the past several years, the twice annual trade event, operated out of both the Congress Centre and the International Centre, which is just up the street. This is first time it has been consolidated into the one facility although its organisers – the Canadian Gift Association (CanGift) – is promised in a statement that attending retailers will enjoy a “categorised, easy to navigate floor plan with some fresh perks along the way.”
The event kicks off if an ‘opening keynote presentation’ by Michael “Pinball” Clemons, former player and coach of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. The organisers said his presentation will be geared towards generating positivity by changing attitudes, perspectives and business in order to adapt to new ideas, approaches and concepts. “While reflecting on your own experiences as a retailer, you’ll become motivated to create a positive outlook and appreciate what you can accomplish when you embrace what’s new,” they said.
Pre-registration to attend the market is required for admittance to the keynote presentation.
The organisers have also on more breakfast seminars and ‘lunch & learn’ sessions than during previous events to help retailers leave the show empowered to take on new challenges in their business.
Also being offered are exciting giveaways, complimentary massages, WiFi and three well-appointed buyers’ lounges.
The LUXE Lounge – in the Berton Room of the Congress Centre – offers plush seating, light refreshments, charging stations and work areas. In Hall 3, the Hashtag Lounge is a comfortable spot to unwind and upload photos to social media (#TOGiftMkt). Meanwhile, in Hall 6, Le Jardin is a space that’s budding with bright ideas, whimsical décor and a refillable water bottle station.
The Toronto Gift + Home Market has also developed five feature areas to assist retailers in finding their next bestsellers, including Just In – dedicated to first time exhibitors, including a selection of highlighted products. Other feature areas include the New Product Showcase, located inside the LUXE Lounge; and the Canadian, Sustainable and Living merchandise displays curated by market ambassador Andrew Pike, located in the North Lobby.
To celebrate the launch of the new show, CanGift will host a Market Mixer on opening night for all attending retailers and exhibitors who are pre-registered. Guests will enjoy one complimentary drink, cash bar, gourmet food stations, appetizers and music by Toronto’s premier DJ Conor Cutz.

Show hours are from 9a.m. to 6p.m. from Sunday to Wednesday, 11 to 13 August 11 to 13 and from 9a.m. to 3p.m. on Wednesday, 14 August.
