Flair/Minhas names Pete Sakaria to head merchandising
CALGARY – Canadian furnitiure resource Flair/Minhas Furniture has tapped industry veteran Pete Sakaria to oversee their merchandising functions effect immediately.
He brings 28 years of industry experience to his new position from across a range of retail, manufacturing and import companies such as The Brick, Dynasty Furniture and Elements International.
“We are pleased to have Pete join us at Flair/Minhas,” Bill Minhas, president and chief executive officer of the privately held company said in a statement. “His diverse skill set in merchandising and global sourcing will be invaluable as we set new direction in product assortment for import programs and domestic manufacturing that will benefit our retail trade partners. Pete will direct our merchandising teams in North America and Asia.”
Mark Price, executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company’s Flair division, added: “Pete’s experience in design, sourcing and manufacturing is instantly recognizable and his connection to the retail sector is an exciting and welcome benefit to the sales side of our efforts.”

Sakaria started in his new role earlier this month and will attend the upcoming Las Vegas Market. The company shows in space A1000 of the World Market Center.
Flair/Minhas is an importer of case goods as well as stationary and motion upholstery. It also produces upholstered furniture at domestic manufacturing facilities located here and in Asheboro, North Carolina. In addition to Las Vegas, it also has a permanent showroom at the High Point Market.
