Eight Sleep enters Canada
MIAMI, Florida – The e-commerce retail space for mattresses in Canada got a little more crowded last week when Eight Sleep announced last week that it has begun shipping its product north of the border.
Based here, the company describes itself as the world’s “first sleep fitness brand” with a to facilitate potential through optimal sleep.
The announcement was made to Retail Insider. Home Goods Online reached out to the company for more details but hasn’t yet received a response.
Eight Sleep claims it’s the only mattress on the market that actively regulates body temperature with a patented hydro-powered cooling technology as well as an advanced health and wellness tracking system for users.
Its assortment includes the Eight Sleep Pod, Pod Pro Cover (for consumers not looking to replace her mattress) and Pod Pro mattresses and mattress covers.
Its offers mattresses in full, queen and king sizes and prices its product in U.S. dollars. The prices are converted to Canadian funds based on the exchange rate at check-out. The price range is from C$2,000 to C$4,500 plus taxes depending on the size and model.
Eight Sleep is offering free shipping with no duties or return shipping charges. Customers can pay with a valid credit card or through PayBright, which is offering zero percent interest and financing from three to 24 months.
Eight Sleep was founded in 2014 and was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2018. It was also recognized two years in a row by TIME’s Best Inventions of the Year.
HGO estimates there are currently as many as 40 different companies specializing in mattresses active in the Canadian e-commerce space.
