Diane Keaton to keynote HPM

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has announced the Academy Award winning actress Diane Keaton will lead-off its Keynote Series at the upcoming Fall 2019 edition of the market, which will open for its normal five-day run on 19 October.

In a statement, HPMA said this now regular educational series will bring three sessions to the High Point Market, each featuring well-known personalities who will share their insights and business-building advice. Each session will seek to enhance the attending buyer’s market experience with timely, relevant and forward-thinking topics.

All sessions will take place in the High Point Theatre, located in the main Transportation Terminal, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to each session. All are scheduled to begin at 3p.m.

Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton will lead-off the Keynote Series as the upcoming fall edition of the High Point Market, which will also see the launch of her new collection of lighting that was developed in collaboration with Aiden Gray.The first Keynote Series session will feature Diane Keaton, the well-known actress and designer. Whether in film, fashion or interiors, Keaton is known for her iconic point of view. Her mastery of black and white and a penchant for creating industrial chic interiors brings a sophisticated edginess to the rooms she creates. Attendees can join Keaton for a casual conversation about her passion for design, her latest projects and her sources of inspiration, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

This session is sponsored by Aidan Gray – the Texas-based occasional furnishings and decorative accessories supplier – and will be held on market’s opening day, Saturday, 19 October at 3p.m. with a book signing to follow.

The company will also launch Keaton’s new collection of lighting during the fall market. “The collection is distinctively Diane Keaton,” says Randal Weeks, founder of Aidan Gray. “Each piece within the line stylistically adapts to any number of design styles from industrial to modern farmhouse.”

Sunday’s keynote session will feature author, motivational speaker and Forbes Top 100 Digital Influencer Erik Qualman, who will dive into the concept of Socialnomics.  “Organizations must learn the new rules of social, mobile and beyond, or they will miss this once-in-a-generation opportunity to earn customers' loyalty and drive long-term success,” is how he describes the concept. “Socialnomics is the key to winning customers' hearts, minds, and wallets.”

HPMA is presenting this session in partnership with the Home Furnishings Association (HFA), the California-based association of furniture retailers with members across both the U.S. and Canada. A book signing to follow.

The Keynote Series will culminate with a discussion surrounding how to harness the brand building power of TV. With the potential to reach millions of people in mere minutes and position a professional as an expert in their field, it is a powerful medium. This session will be moderated by Evette Rios, a trained designer with an impressive resume of national television exposure.

The panel will feature celebrity designers Hilary Farr, Libby Langdon, and Mikel Welch. They’ll delve deep into why TV exposure matters and how designers can use that exposure to build their brands, make more money and acquire more clients. This session will take place on Monday, 21 October at 3p.m.
