Canadian saleswoman wins big with Armstrong
DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia - A flooring saleswoman from this northern provincial city has won US$20,000 in Armstrong's What's the Big Deal? contest.
Valerie Armella received a call from Armstrong vice president, Paul Murfin, in December telling her she's won the big prize. According to a recent report in Floorcovering News, Armella expected to be among the top contest salespeople because of her success selling vinyl, but was floored to hear she'd won the grand prize.
Armstrong ran the contest last year to drive vinyl sales, offering 10 monthly prizes of $1,000 as well as the big prize.
Armella, who works for Top Floors & Design, a single-unit retailer based here, and has been in the flooring business "off and on" for more than 25 years, said her win was "awesome." She said Armstrong has always been her favourite vinyl product, even before the contest.
According to the report, Armella invested the winnings in a retirement savings plan. Click here to read the full story.
