Best Buy to open ‘experience store’ in Montreal
MONTREAL – Best Buy Canada will open its new concept store in the heart of this city’s downtown shopping district this coming Friday morning as part of a country-wide strategy to offer Canadian consumers an “improved shopping experience” and revitalise the way they purchase electronics and appliances.
The two-floor Best Buy ‘Experience Store’ – located at 460 Saint Catherine West – has been completely renovated to provide consumers with a more immersive and interactive experience. This location is one of 30 stores the company has renovated recently.
The store is hosting a grand opening this weekend (December 8 to 10) for the public where shoppers will be offered special deals, promotions, vendor demos, complimentary gift wrapping and giveaways.
“Our unique new store concept is based on feedback from our customers, employees and vendors,” Best Buy Canada president and chief operating officer Ron Wilson said in a statement. “We're committed to bringing an innovative total retail experience to our customers both in store and online. This Montreal store allows us to serve our customers' needs better.”
At the new stores, customers can expect an inspiring, immersive and interactive shopping experience. Cutting edge tech from leading brands is displayed using live demos and high-impact vendor displays. The energetic modern design is complemented by flexibility-focused features such as raised access flooring.
“The layout can change and evolve to follow new product or category innovations. This means the new stores can easily keep up with the technology they are designed to showcase,” Wilson added.
Customers will be able to interact with products via a fully functioning smart home wall. The new major appliances showroom will offer inspiration to create the dream kitchen while aiding the customer to choose the functionality best for her situation.
As part of its renovation strategy, Best Buy said it continues its drive to integrate online and in-store shopping. For example, customers can reserve products online and pick up their purchases from any Best Buy store 20 minutes later. Products can also be shipped from stores and customers can easily return items ordered online by visiting their local Best Buy.
Best Buy Canada is a wholly-owned subsidiary of publicly-held Best Buy Co., which is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It operates some 200 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores across the country as well as the Geek Squad service network.
