Bad Boy opens Burlington store
BURLINGTON, Ontario – High impact promoter Lastman’s Bad Boy (LBB) has opened a 20,000 square foot replacement store in the Burlington Mall here.
It’s the fourth Bad Boy to be located in a mall, the others being in Ancaster, Brampton and Whitby.
When the Ancaster store opened in June 2017, Samantha Lastman, LBB director of business development (and daughter of chief executive officer Blayne Lastman), said malls offer the furniture, mattress, major appliance and electronics merchant several advantages.
“Landlords desire Bad Boy located to open up their malls,” she told Home Goods Online at the time. “To many, Bad Boy is a mini-department store. In addition, Bad Boy has placed stores in malls to capitalise on the traffic and to reach a wider audience. We situate many of our stores in prime mall locations as we believe people will often what to shop at Bad Boy alongside their regular shopping.”
The decision to build the new location was easy, she said.
“We love Burlington. We’ve been there since 2008 and we love it. We needed a bigger and better store to better service the Burlington community,” she said, adding, “Bad Boy had its best year in history. We are continuing to grow.”
The new store, which is located at 3055 Fairview Street, will have a staff of 20 people.
Lastman said the company plans to open its next store sometime next year in Kingston, Ontario. In addition to its virtual e-commerce store, the chain currently operates 11 stores in the Greater Toronto Area.
