LONDON, Ontario - Tepperman's Furniture will construct a new 85,000 square foot furniture, bedding, appliances and electronics store on Wharncliffe Road here. Set to open in fall of 2008, this will be the regional chain's largest single store. Andrew Tepperman, president of the family owned and operated retailer, said the project includes construction of anew 100,000 square foot state-of-the art distribution centre. "This will be our newest and largest operation ever," Tepperman said in a statement. "Not only will this new facility be the destination for anyone looking for home furnishings in south-western Ontario, but it will allow prompt immediate delivery of greater selection." Based in Windsor, Ontario, Tepperman's opened their London store about ten years. They also have outlets in Chatham and Sarnia, Ontario. Tepperman's has selected McKay-Cocker Construction of London to build their new facilities. "For three generations we've been a family owned business that really cares about treating our customers and our employees right," Tepperman said. "We are proud to provide our amazing employees, many who have been with us since the day we opened in London ten years ago with a physical building that will allow them to continue to offer better and faster service to our expanding group of loyal customers in the London area." Tepperman said that in the London area alone, the company has awarded over 100 registered education savings plans to children under 10 years of age through their ongoing support of the CST scholarship program. Each plan is valued at $1,000. "London is a great city with a strong economy and a fantastic future," he said. "It's been our privilege to serve the community for the last ten years, and we're thrilled to be making this significant commitment." |
