Hamilton Spill opens first showroom in South China PDF Print E-mail
Written by HGO Staff

DONGGUAN, China - Hamilton Spill Furniture Group has opened its first showroom space in Asia here in one of this country's most important manufacturing centres. Half the size of a football field, the 35,000 square foot showroom will underscore the company's leadership in Asian sourcing and commitment to innovation in emerging markets, the company said in a statement.

"We are extremely excited to increase our physical presence in South China," said HSFG chairman Mick Verjee, who has been closely involved in the development and launch of the showroom. "With a majority of our vendors in the area, we can consolidate products for viewing from all over the region and display them in a way that reproduces the feel of the North American home setting. Instead of traveling to multiple factories to view items, our customers can visit our showroom with one-stop convenience and experience the entirety of our product line."

The showroom will feature products from every category: upholstery, leather, bedroom, dining, and occasional tables, piped from factories from all over Asia. Under the direction of designer Sylvie O'Keefe, the showroom's decor is influenced by nature, using warm tones to create a rich and inviting environment. "This space is a reflection of the outdoors, bringing whatever is outside in to create a balanced and harmonious energy. Everything flows, there is no collision; everybody can find a place in the showroom that they can relate to," she said.

Verjee and HSFG's newly appointed vice president of operations, Louis Tremblay, are expected to host the first customers through the space this week. The showroom is located on the 5th Floor, Xing Nan Industry Building (beside the Ling Ping Police Station), Guan Chang Road, LingPing Area, DaLing-ShanTown, DongGuanCity, Guang Dong, China.

Noah Tepperman, vice president of Tepperman’s in Windsor, Ontario, is seen here serving customers at the drive-through window at a local McDonald’s fast food outlet recently. He was taking part in a fundraising drive to benefit Transition to Betterness, a local group that focuses on improving patients’ surrounding in local hospitals. The event raised about $26,000. The four-unit, family owned and operated full-line furniture retailer supports a number of community initiatives each year as well as the Canadian Scholarship Trust Fund and the United Way.
