HPM unveils new web site PDF Print E-mail

HIGH POINT, North Carolina (16 July 2012) – The High Point Market has unveiled its revamped web site and added new tools and features to help attendees better plan and navigate their market visit while helping exhibitors promote themselves to retail buyers and designers.

According to the High Point Market Authority (HPMA), the new site makes it easier for attendees to create their schedule right on the website using social media log-ins like Facebook and Twitter accounts, eliminating the need for new user IDs and passwords. Once an attendee has logged in, he or she can begin to create a market plan by adding events and exhibitors, writing and storing notes and reminders, while sorting the plan by building or shuttle stop and printing lists in the preferred order. It is both easy to access and easy to use on any mobile device.

For exhibitors, the new site offers upgrades and enhancements to help them grab the attention of buyers and designers. Each exhibiting company can gain Facebook “likes” and Twitter followers directly from its profile page on the site – HPMA said it is one of the first trade shows in the country to feature this service on its site. Companies can also add logos, descriptions, Twitter and RSS feeds, YouTube videos, and press releases. All releases will also be featured in the new site’s press centre. These new tools are free for market exhibitors.

“The revamped website, featuring an integrated MyMarket, streamlines and enhances the market experience and makes it more successful for attendees,” HPMA president and chief executive officer Tom Conley said in a statement. “The additions and upgrades to the market site allow buyers to get a head-start with market plans before they head to High Point, and they provide important tools to help exhibitors market themselves to buyers, designers, and the media.”

The authority said tens of thousands of buyers visit each week to plan their market schedules and with its unique content, easy-to-use tools, and in-depth information about the High Point Market and the industry, it has become the go-to site for home fashion experts.

“This is just the first phase in our long-term plan to add tools and information that will help buyers navigate and shop the world’s home for home furnishings,” said Conley. “Each market, we will offer upgrades and fresh ideas to help make the High Point Market even more profitable for all of our attendees and exhibitors.”

The fall 2012 edition of the market opens for its usual six-day run on October 13.
