MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (11 July 2012) - John Stasiw has been named president of Simmons Canada by its Atlanta-based parent company, Simmons Bedding Company. He succeeds Paul Bognar who left the bedding major this past December to become executive vice president and chief operating officer of restaurant operator SIR Corp. In his new role, Stasiw is responsible for developing and implementing the company's business plan across all functional areas within the Canadian organization and will report to Tony Smith, president of Simmons U.S. ![]() John Stasiw Stasiw joins Simmons from ACCO Brands, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, where he held a number of senior leadership positions from vice president of sales and marketing to president of various ACCO units. Most recently, Stasiw served as senior vice president and general manager of the company's global print finishing business. Before ACCO, Stasiw was president and chief executive officer of ACE Products, a manufacturer of tires for lawn and garden and agricultural industries, and held several senior leadership roles at office furniture leader Steelcase. Stasiw began his executive career at Philips Lighting Company, where he directed business groups and was promoted to vice president and general manager. A Canadian, Stasiw said he's happy to relocate from Chicago to Toronto for the opportunity to work with Simmons Canada. "I am thrilled to join the Simmons family.
