LAS VEGAS (09 July 2012) - Some 18 Canadian home furnishings resources are expected to participate in the upcoming summer 2012 edition of the Las Vegas Market. The semi-annual five-day event gets underway at the World Market Center here on July 30. Also showing, in collaboration with their parent organizations, are at least two Canadian branches of U.S. based furniture importers - Winners Only and Zuo Modern. The Canadian sales teams from a number of U.S. based companies are also expected to be in their parent company's showrooms during the market. The best examples are the three bedding majors - Serta, Sealy and Simmons - as well as Top Ten furniture producers Ashley Furniture and Furniture Brands International (particularly its Broyhill and Lane divisions). Two Canadian firms will show at the Las Vegas Market for the first time - added value product and service specialist Caber Sure Fit and Spring Air Sommex, the producers of the Natura World and Obusforme mattress brands.  Magnussen will unveil the Adelle youth bedroom collection at the upcoming summer edition of the Las Vegas Market. The most notable design features of this hardwood group are its loops and swirels - which also prompted market organizers to include it as part of their ‘First Look' trend report. For a number of Canadian exhibitors, Las Vegas is the only U.S. market they support. Among these are upholstery producers Stylus and Minhas, ready-to-assemble specialists South Shore, Prepac and Sonax; outdoor furniture and accessories house Ratana Home; and, home theatre specialist Elite. The organizers of the Las Vegas do not publish a lot of statistics about the event. For example, the precise of exhibitors participating in the summer market is not known. However, they claim that 44% of all international buyers attending the winter 2012 market were from Canada.
