The show will end on August 9 with the annual CHFA Golf Classic. There will be at least four new participants in this year's event including bedroom and occasional case goods resource Magnussen Home; contemporary upholstery specialist Van Gogh Designs; Canadian upholstery major Décor-Rest Furniture; and leather producer Leather Craft. As has been the practise for the past several years, TSFS will run in concert with the summer show organized by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Association (CGTA), which will be held at both the International Centre and the nearby Toronto Congress Centre from Sunday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 15. For more information about that event, the CGTA maintains a web site at www.cgta.org. According to CHFA chairman Laine Reynolds, TSFS traditionally attracts independent retailers from outside the Greater Toronto Area and Atlantic Canada. "This is a great way for independent retailers to freshen their floors for the fall selling season," said Reynolds, who is also vice president and sales and marketing for upholstery producer Superstyle Furniture and its sister company, Trend-Line. He also points out that a sizeable number of independent retailers throughout eastern Canada do not travel to the big North American markets in either High Point or Las Vegas and need an opportunity to source new goods for the key fall selling season. The show will conclude with the annual CHFA Golf Classic on Tuesday, August 11. For the third consecutive year, the tournament will be held at the Caledon Woods Golf Club in Bolton, Ontario. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. following by a shotgun tee-off at 1 p.m. The tournament will end with dinner at 5:30 p.m. For more information about TSFS and Golf Classic or to register for either event, contact CHFA president Murray Vaughan at 905.655.6771 or by e-mail at . |
