Samsung to open first Canadian store PDF Print E-mail
Written by HGO Staff

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (21 May 2012) - Samsung Electronics Canada (SEC) will open its first self-branded retail store in Burnaby, British Columbia sometime this summer, the consumer electronics and major appliance producer has announced.

In a statement, the company said the new Samsung store - to be located in the Metropolis at Metrotown - will be designed to provide Canadian consumers with an exciting new way to experience and interact with Samsung's line up of mobile, personal computing and consumer electronics products in a standalone retail location.

"Samsung is excited to bring a new level of retail experience to Canadians," SEC president James Politeski said. "Our vision is to provide an immersive space where consumers can interact with our products in totally new ways and enjoy unprecedented service levels."

With unique design elements and a broad product offering, the Samsung store will provide Canadian consumers with a premium retail experience. The store will showcase Samsung's technology leadership and enable consumers to experience firsthand the power of sharing content across multiple products.

"The launch of our Burnaby location is part of a larger retail strategy designed to offer Canadians an extraordinary environment to interact with the Samsung products they're most passionate about," Politeski said.

However, it was unclear in the statement whether the store would display the company's fast growing assortment of major appliances.

Politeski said the store will be staffed by fully trained Samsung experts who will use Smart Table technology and a tablet-based point-of-sale system. The store will feature an in-store education area as well as a complete line-up of accessories to complement the product offering.
