TORONTO (27 February 2012) - As part of a strategy to bolster service and sales in Western Canada, BSH Home Appliances has named David Wang to lead a new team of sales and service managers to work with retailers throughout the region.

In a statement, the company - which markets the Bosch, Thermador and Gaggenau brands - said the new team will provide direct one-on-one service to all retailers and will be supported by an increased inventory capacity to need the needs of the independent channel. This, in turn, should ensure efficient delivery and service to the company's entire network in Western Canada.

"Establishing a corporate presence and enhancing our warehouse capabilities in Western Canada was necessary to foster stronger relationships with our dealers in a key market," BSH director of marketing Steve Preiner "Having a team on the ground allows us to effectively deliver consumer promotions and provides a conduit for feedback."

Based in Vancouver, Wang will serve as regional sales manager for a territory covering Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia as well as the three northern territories.

BSH said Wang has some ten years' experience in the industry with a focus on training, marketing, and strategic planning. He holds a master's degree in economics and will report to Greg Bourne, director of sales for Ontario and Western Region.

The other members of Wang's sales team are: Warren Forrest, who will cover British Columbia; Shelley Hagen, in B.C. and Alberta; Neville Chia, who will also work in B.C.; Hafiz Hirji, will be responsible for southern Alberta and Saskatchewan; and, Mel Orenstein, who will look after northern Alberta and Manitoba.

Augmenting the team will be Deborah Applegarth, product trainer and Dave Stansfield as field service manager for Western Canada. Both are also based in Vancouver.

BSH said the new team collectively has more than 100 years of major appliance industry experience.

"Our Western Canada sales team has extensive industry experience and understands the needs of our dealers in this market," Preiner said. "We're looking forward to working closely with our dealer partners in Western Canada to deliver the best programs possible."

Currently more than 60 retailers carry Bosch brand in Western Canada while approximately 35 carry Thermador and 15 are authorized to sell the high-end Gaggenau assortment.  Some of the better known western retailers carrying BSH brands include Trail Appliances, Midland Appliances and Coast Wholesale Appliances.

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, BSH is a fully-owned subsidiary of Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group, the third largest appliance manufacturer in the world.
