EDMONTON (20 May 2011) - The Brick and Simmons Canada have launched a promotion to raise funds in aid of the people of Slave Lake, Alberta, whose homes and business were devastated by recent forest fires throughout the northern areas of the province. During the week from May 20 to May 22, 6% of all Simmons mattress sales from Brick and Brick Mattress stores in Alberta will be donated to the Slave Lake Relief Fund. "Communities like Slave Lake are the heart and spirit of Alberta and we all share their grief. When tragedy strikes, Albertans pull together, and the Brick Group and Simmons Canada are there to join the relief efforts," Brick Group president and chief executive officer Bill Gregson said in a statement. "We hope that a $50,000 contribution, and potentially more, will assist those impacted at this time." "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the community of Slave Lake. We trust our efforts partnering with The Brick in this contribution will make a difference to those affected," added Paul Bognar, president of Simmons Canada. |
