MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (01 April 2011) - The Canadian Appliance Manufacturers Association (CAMA) has released 2011 edition of its annual Major Appliance Industry Trends and Facts report, the only major statistical review of this country's white goods industry. The 40-page report contains data on historical unit sales, provincial sales, feature trends and seasonality charts for the seven major appliance categories: refrigerators, freezers, ranges, dishwashers, microwave ovens, laundry products, and room air conditioners. The data is extracted directly from CAMA's monthly statistical program.
"This year's report draws on the historic milestones achieved by the Canadian appliance industry in 2010," Warrington Ellacott, chairman of CAMA's executive committee, said in a statement. "We saw a strong return to growth for the industry in 2010, a rise not seen since 2007," he noted, adding, "Also, CAMA manufacturer members delivered more energy-efficient appliances to Canadians in 2010 than at any time in our country's history. This purchasing pattern provides a good indicator for further growth in 2011, especially with the proliferation of new innovations already at play in the market." Free to CAMA members, non-members can purchase the 2011 Major Appliance Industry Trends & Facts report for $500 plus HST by downloading an order form at www.cama-online.ca/cama-focus/business-data. For archives of the publication, or for historical information dating back to the early 1970s, contact or call the association at 905.602.8877. CAMA is one of six industry councils operated by Electro-Federation Canada (EFC). |
