Ohio hardwood market set for March 2 PDF Print E-mail
Written by HGO Staff

WALNUT CREEK, Ohio (14 February 2011) - More than 100 furniture makers from Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Michigan are set to exhibit at the Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market, set for March 2-3 at the Holmes County Expo Center here.

Domestically made hardwood furniture will be shown in 95,000 square feet of space. Over 1,100 retailers from the U.S. Midwest and Canada are expected to attend. Many of the exhibitors are Amish craftsmen.

Storage, both hidden and visible, along with hand-applied finishes and glass inserts, give this television stand both style and substance. Both the bedroom and TV stand are made by members of the Hardwood Furniture Guild.

Two seminars are on tap during the market. John West, on the board of directors for the Color Marketing Group, will discuss color trends. New finish and stain colors are expected to be highlights of the market.

Another seminar, Forest to Furniture, will feature a panel of local specialists discussing how they make hardwood furniture, including the reforestation efforts business owners are taking to ensure long-term viability.

A pre-show seminar on the uses and sustainability of eucalyptus wood is set for Tuesday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m.

Registered market attendees can attend all seminars for free, and also dine free at the Expo Center's café, with all donated proceeds going to special education in Holmes County's Amish schools. Individuals or companies can register online at www.ohiohardwoodfurnituremarket.com/register.

Walnut Creek is in northeast Ohio, less than 120 miles from Cleveland, Columbus or Pittsburgh. Registration questions, lodging assistance or other show and travel inquiries can be directed to the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce at (877) 643-8824. More information is available at www.ohiohardwoodfurnituremarket.com.
