LAS VEGAS (14 February 2011) - The World Market Center reported the winter market here Jan. 24-28 attracted 25% more buyers than the summer 2010 event, and 9% more than the year-ago market. The organizers of the Las Vegas Market cited double-digit buyer growth in key international regions, with Canadian buyers up 23%, Latin American buyers up 30% and Mexican buyers rising 13%, all compared to a year ago. Overall, international buyer attendance rose 16% from last winter. Meanwhile, designer attendance increased 33%, and over 80% of the Top 100 U.S. retailers were at the recent winter market, the WMC said. Specific figures weren't given. In addition, the winter market here saw a 20% increase in exhibiting companies compared to last summer's event, with 150 new-to-market exhibitors, the WMC said. |
