WMC says attendance up for winter market PDF Print E-mail

LAS VEGAS (14 February 2011) - The World Market Center reported the winter market here Jan. 24-28 attracted 25% more buyers than the summer 2010 event, and 9% more than the year-ago market.

The organizers of the Las Vegas Market cited double-digit buyer growth in key international regions, with Canadian buyers up 23%, Latin American buyers up 30% and Mexican buyers rising 13%, all compared to a year ago. Overall, international buyer attendance rose 16% from last winter.

Meanwhile, designer attendance increased 33%, and over 80% of the Top 100 U.S. retailers were at the recent winter market, the WMC said. Specific figures weren't given.

In addition, the winter market here saw a 20% increase in exhibiting companies compared to last summer's event, with 150 new-to-market exhibitors, the WMC said.

Resale market higher in October
OTTAWA (18 November 2014) - Home sales rose a gentle 0.7% on a month-over-basis in October, according to the latest figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), although most activity remains centred on Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Across the rest of the country, the housing market appears more subdued.
