Couture to launch outdoor seating collection at this week's High Point Market PDF Print E-mail

JOLIETTE, Quebec (13 April 2010) - Contemporary furniture specialist Couture International will launch a line of outdoor seating at this weekend's High Point Market. Designed by company founder and creative director Normand Couture, this will be the company's first foray into the category.

Labeled Couture Jardin, the line is a joint venture between Couture's design and development firm Normand Couture Design Inc. and a private investment group.

Manufactured in Asia and targeting the value price points, the collection's design incorporates unique shapes and is constructed using light weight aluminum powder coated frames, that are covered with an industry leading, environmentally friendly polyethylene woven wicker that is 100% recyclable, contains no PVC and is non-toxic, even if burned.

Couture Jardin products will incorporate the functionality associated with the outdoor living lifestyle with interlocking shapes that will allow the user to mix and match pieces to create variable seating arrangements that fit their needs. Individual styles have integrated storage space and cushions covered with carefree high performance outdoor fabrics.

At market, Couture will unveil the first offering of contemporary sofas, sectionals, chaise lounges and swivel chairs. A dining and bar ensemble is slated for later this spring.

"We have had an amazing response so far," Couture said in a statement.

The collection received an ICFF Excellent Design Award at the recent contemporary furniture show in Guangzhou, China.

"Our debut at the ICFF show in Guangzhou was a great success that allowed us to get the products quickly placed in several key European and Asian markets. So now, with High Point upon us, we are hoping for a successful repeat in the U.S., Canadian, Mexico and Latin America markets," Couture said.

Couture International's showroom is located on the seventh floor of the C&D Building in downtown High Point.
