IKEA wins retail advertising award PDF Print E-mail
Written by Canada News Wire

BURLINGTON, Ontario (19 October 2009 - IKEA Canada was awarded the top honours in its category at the Retail Advertising & Marketing Club of Canada (RAC Canada) Awards Gala last week.

The furniture and home furnishings retailer's advertising campaign was given the nod as best in the Large Mass Retailer category, after being recognized alongside the work of Canadian Tire and Indigo Books & Music. The RAC Retail Advertising Awards were created to recognize the retail advertisers who best communicate with their customers in the most impactful way.

"We always strive to support our company objective, to create a better every day life for the many, by having fun and creating results-driven advertising that stands out from the crowd," IKEA Canada president Kerri Molinaro said in a statement. "I would like to thank both our creative agency Zig and our media buying partner Mindshare for their efforts in contributing to this award."

The RAC determined the event's winners by polling professionals in the retail marketing industry. They were asked to choose among the best retail advertisers in Canada.

"What makes this award very special is we were chosen by our peers in the retail industry who value the creative and strategic insight that goes into developing impactful campaigns for our brand," Molinaro added.

The Retail Advertising and Marketing Club of Canada (www.raccanada.ca) is a not-for-profit association targeting senior retail marketers. RAC Canada aims to host innovative, compelling events throughout the year and encourage networking among its members.
