Cantrex launches flooring retail network PDF Print E-mail

MONTREAL (03 October 2009) - Cantrex has launched Independent Flooring Experts (IFE), a new network to serve independent flooring retailers who don't want to become part of a banner or franchise.

"Independent Flooring Experts was created to give entrepreneurs the chance to partner with a group without losing any of their identity or independence," says Jason Walker, the Cantrex business development manager responsible for the network.

Walker adds that the IFE model provides member retailers with back room support, optional marketing tools and gives access to all of the services and benefits offered by Cantrex's member retail services division, which include such things as insurance, merchant rates for credit cards and a collection service, among others.

Rolled out a few months ago, IFE currently has almost 50 members mainly located in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada and reports that approximately 20 additional stores are in the process of joining. These retailers make annual purchases of between $100,000 and $5 million. "It works for all of them, any size, equally well," Walker says.

"The main reason people like this program is because of its flexibility and that much of the program is in the control of the member, not the group," he adds.

Among the additional benefits offered by IFE to its members are: no fees; extended payment terms; early pay discounts; volume rebates; no mandatory products; no mandatory signage; retailers continue to negotiate their own prices; and, consumer financing.
