Michael J Knell

Michael has covered the Canadian home goods industry for the past 20+ years. He is best known as the Canadian Correspondent for Furniture/Today, the weekly business-to-business newspaper for the residential furniture industry in North America, and Canadian Editor for Floor Covering Weekly, a similar publication serving the flooring industry.

He also served as editor of Home Goods Retailing and has contributed to a wide variety of allied publications including Canadian Interiors, the Home section of the Toronto Star and the Ottawa Citizen, among others.

Michael founded HGO to provide more in-depth market intelligence to Canadian home goods retailers and their vendor partners. The site and its accompanying newsletter will cover the furniture, bedding, appliances, consumer electronics, accessories, lamps and lighting and floor coverings product sectors of the market. HGO will also be a forum for the dissemination of market research and hard-hitting articles on best practices for Canadian retailers.

HGO's designer and technical genius, Jayme is a web developer with clients both Canada and the United States. He has been creating commercial web sites since 1994 and specializes in Content Management Systems (CMS) - sites that allow non-technical site owners to maintain and update their own content. Jayme's business interests lie in helping his clients match their business goals and processes with content-rich web sites and other online marketing tools.

He is the founder of In House Logic (www.inhouselogic.com) based on London, Ontario.

Janice Chamberlain

Janice is a 20-year veteran of the home furnishings industry. She has written and provided market research for a variety of North American publications, including Furniture/Today, Home Textiles Today, Home Accents Today and Home Furnishings Business, as well as worked with a number of industry analysts and experts. Her specialties include industry research and financial analysis and reporting.

Janice earned a B.A. degree in English from Albion College and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. She studied business journalism at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

She has been affiliated with Home Goods Online since 2008.

She recently started Concierge Relocation (www.conciergerelocation.com), a company specializing in move management, especially for those dramatically downsizing seniors and their overwhelmed children.
