South Shore plans 57-item roll out for upcoming fall Las Vegas Market PDF Print E-mail

SAINTE-CROIX, Québec (03 September 2009) - Canadian case goods specialist South Shore Furniture will present a total of 57 new items across at least three new collections at the upcoming Las Vegas Market, all designed to satisfy consumers' needs for diversity and affordability.

"Our market research indicates that difficult economic times are pushing consumers to seek reasonably-priced furniture, but not at the expense of great design. We are also seeing a rebirth of the cocooning trend that was really popular in the nineties," marketing director Étienne Chabot said.

Chabot noted that South Shore Furniture's development team has devoted particular effort to creating products that reflect these trends.

Part of the Skyline collection, this entertainment centre offers the beauty of a rich finish with the practicality of built-in storage. Its design features include built-in lights in the cabinets, sleek metal handles and grooves on the doors and drawers to lend a trendy appeal to the finish.

Leading off South Shore's presentation are three collections: Noble, Skyline and Smart Basics.

"Featuring classic lines and abundant storage space for electronic equipment, DVDs, CDs, books or even clothes, the Noble collection is great for keeping belongings organized to make sure the bedroom remains a peaceful retreat," Chabot said, adding its design features include a dark mahogany finish, stylishly wrought legs and sleek metal handles

Noble's gleaming metal pulls add a fresh, bright accent to the deep, dignified finish, giving the collection a hint of lustre that contrasts with its traditional styling. Meanwhile, its elegantly shaped legs add curves to the collection's straight lines, thus indulging the senses while maintaining neatness and order.

The Skyline collection marries the beauty of a rich and sumptuous cherry finish with the practicality of built-in storage. This entertainment centre boasts clean lines and generous open and enclosed shelves and can be configured to suit the consumer's specific space requirements.

It also features "built-in lights bathe favourite treasures in a warm glow, drawing the eye to precious collectibles and belongings and turning ordinary furniture into an extraordinary showcase," Chabot said.

The Smart Basics collection features contemporary styling and sleek and simple lines to coordinate with virtually any décor. "Fully functional and adaptable, the items in the collection will meet any storage need with their practical open and closed spaces," Chabot said.

Chabot also said that the privately-held, family-operated case goods producer's Las Vegas presentation will also allow visiting buyers to learn more about the company's production standardization practices, simplified and enhanced after-sales support, and its new plant located in Juarez, Mexico.

Buyers will also be introduced to its new online gallery, consisting of an easily integrated link on the web sites of selected retailers that allows consumers to shop for furniture online and receive the products directly from South Shore.

Chabot noted that for retailers, this turnkey online platform can represent additional sales, potential cross-promotions, greater product offerings, and a growing consumer base - "all without any extra inventory investment, labour costs, or handling of shipping and returns."

South Shore's showroom is located in space B-0980 at the World Market Center. The Las Vegas Market opens for a four-day run on 14 September.
