Cantrex tourney raises $10K for Le Refuge

BLAINVILLE, Quebec - Cantrex hosted its annual Quebec golf tournament at Le Bainvillier course here earlier this month, raising $10,000 for the Le Refuge des jeune de Montréal, a shelter helping distressed and homeless young men.
Some 152 Cantrex members, suppliers and employees took part in the annual event, which was held on both a new day and at a new course. For the previous three years, the event had been held at the St-Raphael golf club in September. Some 175 attended the dinner.
This year's major sponsors included Whirlpool, the Canadian Home Furnishings Market, Simmons Canada, Tarkett, Electrolux/Frigidaire, JVC, GE Capital, and Dumoulin.
The winning foursome of the best ball-format tournament were Mario Lallier of Goodfellow, Pierre-Yves Roy of Armstrong, Daniel Gaboury of Ceratec; and, Dave Shatilla of KD Display.
Cantrex's other major tournament will be held 08 July at the Copper Creek Golf Club in Klienburg, Ontario.
The charity of choice will once again be the Make-a-Wish Foundation, an organisation that supports terminally ill children.
