Panasonic will cut prices on some TVs PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tom Philp
NEW YORK (25 June 2009) - Panasonic launched a Holidays in June promotion this week, announcing plans to cut prices on select 46- and 42-inch models of plasma televisions.

Three 46-inch models will have price points cut by $200 each, including the TCP46S1, (now US$1,299); the TCP46G10, (now $1,499); and the TCP46G15, (now $1,599). Panasonic's 42-inch 720p plasma unit, the TCP42X1 has also been reduced by $100 to $799.

Panasonic said the reduced prices will remain the new regular prices of the products, and are not part of the instant-rebate programs that were recently offered on some models, according to a Panasonic spokesperson.

"We were just looking at that price delta between the 42-, 46-, 50-inch-class products and wanted to make sure we had correctly set the sweet spot for the prevailing market conditions," the company said.
