Online registration opens for Toronto summer show and golf classic PDF Print E-mail

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Online registration is now available for both the Toronto Summer Furniture Show (TSFS) and the annual Golf Classic hosted by the Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance.

This year, the TSFS will be held on 09 and 10 August, followed by the Golf Classic on Tuesday, 11 August 2009. The tournament will be held at the Glen Eagle Golf Club in nearby Bolton, Ontario.

Some 40 companies with permanent showrooms in and around the International Centre participated in the 2008 summer show. The association, in collaboration with Home Goods Online, will once again publish a show guide that will be distributed nationwide to some 3,000 retailers.

The TSFS provides smaller manufacturers, importers and distributors, who do not exhibit at either the High Point or Las Vegas markets with an opportunity to launch new product without waiting until the January 2010 edition of the Canadian Home Furnishings Market.

The fee to companies looking to participate in show and be listed in the show guide is $250 (plus G.S.T.) for CHFA members. The fee for non-members is $300 (plus G.S.T.).

Retailers and other buyers are also encouraged to register for the show as well. The registration forms for both exhibitors and attending buyers can be found at http://www.chfaweb.ca/i-tsfs.html.

As in previous years, the TSFS will overlap the summer edition of the semi-annual trade event held by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Association. The gift show will be held at both the International Centre and the Toronto Congress Centre from 09 to 13 August 2009.

"Holding the golf tournament in conjunction with the TSFS is an excellent networking opportunity for both suppliers and retailers," CHFA president Murray Vaughan said, adding, "Last year the golf tournament was attended by 120 manufacturers, suppliers and retailers."

The cost to participated in the annual Golf Classic is $195 per person (plus G.S.T.), which includes green fees, the use of a cart, lunch and dinner. Dinner only tickets are available at a cost of $75 (plus G.S.T.)

Golfers wishing to register, either individually or as a foursome, should log on to http://www.chfaweb.ca/e-golf.html.

The CHFA will also hold its annual general meeting on the morning of 11 August at the Glen Eagle Golf Club.
