VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Stationary upholstery specialist Stylus, Made-to-Order Sofas has unveiled a new logo as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, which will also include a sales contest for retail associates and a party that will held during the company's private dealer show that will be held here later this year.
The 50th anniversary logo unveiled this week by Stylus Made-to-Order Sofas. "This is a major milestone for our company," company president Rick Ripoli said in a statement. "Our founding families are extremely proud of the success of our business and the positive impact it has had on our community through employing hundreds of people and our charitable support." He noted that the company started out quite humbly - as a small upholstery shop producing just six pieces a day. Today, Stylus has grown their sales to over $30 million annually and has outgrown each of the five factories it has occupied and evolved through three name changes that reflected the changes in the core business. In 2004, 80 per cent of Stylus was acquired by Terravest Industries, a diversified income trust headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It also owns Beco, one of the largest Canadian designers, manufacturers and importers of home textiles as well as other companies involved in the oil and gas, agriculture and heating products. According to Terravest, Stylus has sales of $30.4 million in 2008, down seven per cent from $32.7 million in 2007. While the founding families no longer have the majority investment, they continue to guide Stylus on a daily basis. |
