Canadian flooring dealer wins Armstrong contest PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tom Philp
MONCTON, New Brunswick - Chris Christie, a sales associate with Ritchie's Flooring Warehouse here, has won Armstrong's What's the Big Deal? promotion, taking both the $30,000 grand prize and the $20,000 prize for being the top laminate salesperson.

An 18-year veteran of the industry with Ritchie's, Christie said he worked hard to boost sales, but that effort was made easier by the "great" products he had to sell.

"When it comes to products such as Grand Illusions and Nature's Gallery, I think the product sells itself," Christie said. "There is nothing in the industry that compares to Grand Illusions. Customers like the visual, the style."

Ritchie's carried Armstrong laminate for the first time in 2008, although the company had sold Armstrong sheet goods for year.

Christie said Armstrong assists retailers by providing seminars that increase product knowledge, and that if additional training is required, the company rep is quick to come to the store. He also praised the Armstrong web site and product displays.

The flooring veteran attributes his success in the business to "hard work, integrity and customer service."
