Sony partners with Contol4 in multi-room controls PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tom Philp

NEW YORK – Sony and integration specialist company Control4 have announced a partnership to produce a “pre-configured” and “pre-wired” 12-zone home entertainment system that comes in a Middle Atlantic AXS rack.

The companies said the system will be available this spring at price points that will vary based on the selection of components. The suggested range is US$40,000 to $85,000.

Using a Sony product “open house” event to make the announcement, the two companies said the new systems will be available only through authorized Sony and/or Control4 dealers, and will not be retailed in big box stores.

According to Sony, the new NHS-130C system is a combination of top-end home theatre components and whole home automation. It can be integrated fully, and installed easily because of its pre-packaged design.

Control4 called the NHS-130C a “middle market” solution to complete home system integration.

The basic system will include a home theatre, 12 HD video zones, the best source components, and an integrated Control4 HC-500 controller. Options will include upgraded keypads and touch panels to control lighting, home climate and a local zone controller for on-screen navigation zones.
