He was taking part in a fundraising drive to benefit Transition to Betterness, a local group that focuses on improving patients’ surrounding in local hospitals. The event raised about $26,000. The four-unit, family owned and operated full-line furniture retailer supports a number of community initiatives each year as well as the Canadian Scholarship Trust Fund and the United Way.
