Sears Canada loss widens as third quarter sales fall 15%
TORONTO (19 November 2014) - Sears Canada continues to struggle in an ever more competitive retail market place, reporting its 10th loss in 15 quarters, suggesting the turn-around plan it announced just over two years ago isn't gaining traction. There are also signs it is also losing ground as one of this country's furniture, mattress and major appliance juggernauts.

Huppé: On top being notorious

Like many furniture companies, Huppé has been around for a long time - since 1967, to be exact. Like many of its counterparts and competitors, it started as a small family-run operation. It was founded by Raymond Hamel and his brothers Aurèle and Sylvio and initially specialised in cedar chests. As the years went on, the company outgrew Aurèle's basement and a barn before acquiring a bigger facility, more product offerings and country-wide distribution.
