COLUMBUS, Ohio (05 December 2013) – Big Lots will exit the Canadian market sometime during the first quarter of 2014, less than three years after buying Liquidation World, saying its first foray outside of the United States has been unprofitable.

Sears Canada sells off more property

TORONTO (11 November 2013) – Sears Canada has announced it has sold its 50% interest in eight real estate properties across the country to Montez Income Properties for approximately $315 million. Two weeks ago, the multi-channel retail sold off its flagship store and four others here for $400 million.

HBC closes bid for Saks
